The Tagis Mobile app is a key component of the Tagisphere AR Platform. You can use it to find hyperlinked Augmented Reality (AR) geotags near you, anywhere on the earth. Any organization can create their own projects and create these hyperlinks at the actual location of their located assets, anywhere on the earth.
When using the app, you must be outside so you can receive a GPS satellite signal. The app will understand your location and the AR viewer will show map pins (like you typically see on a map). We call these AR Geotags. Things around you are tagged.
The AR tags are at specific geolocated positions. They will have a label you can read and will typically be hyperlinked to cloud-based information about the thing that has been tagged. You can access the information by picking on the tag in the AR view and you be presented one or more hyperlinks you can access.
There are some controlling mechanisms that help you control what you can see and what data you can access. These are described below in the feature descriptions.
Using the Tagisphere AR Platform
The most powerful way to use the Tagisphere AR Platform is for your company/organization to setup your own account in the Tagisphere AR Portal www.tagisphere.com. By doing this, you can begin to publish your own private and public tags using various methods.
Your Tagisphere AR Platform account lets you organize your tags in various projects. You can also add users to your organization and decide which users can see data from which projects. You can also make your project public.
Features and Functionality:
Public Login:
You can use the Tagis Mobile app as a public user with no account setup needed. Public logins can only see public data/projects. Within the 50 United Staes public users will always see the NGS (National Geodetic Survey) project. This project is a public domain project that shows AR geotags at all NGS Benchmark locations, with hyperlinks to the benchmark data sheet. This is a free service for professional surveyors.
Private Login:
When an organization has an account in the Tagisphere AR Portal, they can invite users to their organization. This invitation process has the invited user create a Tagisphere account. This account allows them to login to the portal and to Tagis Mobile. These logins will have access to project data where they have been authorized.
Data Source:
Users select a data source (project) as a first step when launching a Tagis Mobile session. This then only shows tags from the selected project.
Category/subcategory Filters:
Tags are organized in a Category=>Subcategory hierarchy. Users can use filters to isolate tags to specific groups they are interested in viewing.
Hyperlinks:
Users can pick/click on tags to see if it has any hyperlinks available and then click on the hyperlink to access the linked data.
Map View:
Users can toggle off the default AR view to see a map view. The map view shows a local map with all of the tags displayed on that map.
